Chapter 21

Amber wiped her fingers on the white napkin provided by the cafeteria. Across from her, Nadia waited with wide, intense eyes for her to finish her dirty tale. “Then she fucked me in the VIP room.”

Nadia’s mouth dropped open. They both glanced at the woman in question, currently hosting a meeting for two investors in a faraway corner. Her prim and proper hairstyle was nothing like the mess it was Friday night. Nor would anyone have guessed that the professional beauty schmoozing two old men with billions of dollars between them had been to a punk rock concert and fucked her girlfriend all weekend.

“Adrienne did that?”

“Hell yeah she did.” Amber remained sitting up straight as she daintily ate her French onion soup. “Came so hard I saw stars.”

Amber didn’t often get to share her sexual exploits with friends, least of all Nadia, who always had her own stories to gab about. Eva Warren did nothing halfway when it came to sex. Forever somewhat bitter she turned me down all those months ago. It would’ve ruined her friendship with Nadia, but eh.

“Good for you,” Nadia said with a genuine tone. “Sometimes I worry about you two.”

“Why? Because our shit is so fucking volatile?”

“Well, yeah.”

“We’re getting better. She actually treats our relationship like it’s a real thing now.”

Nadia slowly shook her head.

“For Adrienne, that’s a big fucking deal. I think I might be her healthiest relationship since our boss.”

That only made Nadia shake her head harder.

A waiter came by with complimentary heart-shaped chocolates. That’s right. It’s Valentine’s Day. It had taken Amber a lot of pleading to get Mr. Cole that reservation for him and his wife, but after ten minutes of playing up her skills, Amber was able to talk the manager at Mia Bella into giving the Coles one of three prime seats. Amber didn’t know who he had to kick out of the spot, and she didn’t care.

“What are you doing tonight?” Nadia asked, unwrapping her chocolate.

Amber popped hers into her mouth. “With any luck my girlfriend will fuck me like she did Friday night.” That was the first time in a long time Amber managed at least three orgasms of the same magnificent quality. That shit continued aaallll weekend. Adrienne kept her promise when she said she wasn’t letting Amber leave the bedroom for most of the weekend. Adrienne didn’t go far, either. The only time she had to step out by herself was when she had a business brunch Sunday morning. Amber slept through the whole thing.

When they were home together? Endless cuddling, feel-good movies, baths, online shopping, and sex. So much sex that sometimes Amber wasn’t sure what the line was between gentle lovemaking and the kind of sex-toy infused poundings Adrienne was generous with that weekend.

She had no doubt they would be spending the night together again.

Four hours later, when Amber was winding down the workday with constructing an inter-office memo on Mr. Cole’s behalf, Adrienne appeared from his office and approached her girlfriend with a skip in her step.
